S&C Property Claims Specialist - Dublin

Excellent new opportunity to join our Claims team in Dublin.  We are looking to hire an experienced Claims Specialist who have exposure to complex property claims.  This Property Specialist & Complex Claims will be involve handling large, complex or specialist cases using agreed claims processes to achieve settlement outcomes in line with business strategy and goals, regulatory and corporate policies, customer propositions.

You will also work to agreed personal performance objectives and targets.
You will spend most of your time reviewing and assessing claims, liaising with customers, internal colleagues and suppliers, providing support, advice and guidance and contributing to policy and product development. 


You will be mostly desk based, along with field work as required, dealing with customers and third parties on a one to one basis, as well as working with other colleagues as part of a team.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives. You will also use demonstrate your effective communication and organisation skills.

You will support the management of RSA panel suppliers, including the attendance at supplier performance review and governance meetings.
You will also support the technical capability development of less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling allocated cases and achieving optimum settlement, within designated personal authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
  • Assessing claims against relevant criteria and experience to identify actual or potential issues and involving others as appropriate in order to minimise leakage and protect the interests of the business.
  • Undertaking assessments of allocated claims cases at the scene of the loss/event to gather relevant evidence/information, critically assess potential loss, recovery options and reserving requirements in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
  • Providing precautionary and post-loss/event advice and guidance to customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
  • Liaising and co-operating with Reinsurers and/or internal Reinsurance teams as necessary, in order to ensure full and prompt recovery of monies owed to the business.
  • Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Contributing to the development of customer propositions, bringing knowledge and insight of customers, and customers’ businesses, commercial drivers and risks, in order to identify opportunities to increase penetration of existing customers and/or expand the business mix.
  • Providing proactive advice and guidance on the development of new and improved policy wordings to ensure policy documentation reflects claims experience and agreed risk appetite.
  • Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Helping and contributing to the technical development of less experienced collegues to raise standards and expertise across the team.
  • Leading, contributing to and co-operating with audits and reviews as required in order to support and enable the maintenance of an effective control environment.
  • Managing the performance of panel loss adjusters and other service providers, ensuring that they are efficiently handling cases allocated to them, and progressing them at pace to cost effective settlement.
  • Contributing to Bright Ideas to continually challenge the way we settle claims.

Requirements:

  • CIP qualified (required)
  • 7+ years relevant experience required.
  • Experience of dealing with brokers and a wide variety of customers
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Qualification in Loss Adjusting, Health & Safety, Legal Studies, etc. may be beneficial but not essential
  • A full Driving License is required
  • Overnight stays may be necessary
