Head of Business Partnering

Exciting new role for a Qualified Finance Professional to lead out Business Partnering team.  This role is based in our Dublin office reporting directly to Chief Financial Officer.
This Head of Business Partnering will lead our Finance Business Partnering team.

You will set the standard for Finance Business Partnering and you and your team will provide financial advice and guidance to internal customers, plan and manage the delivery of services from Finance e.g. management information and reports and ensure adherence to appropriate financial policies and procedures.

You will add value through your intimate understanding of the business, your ability to bring value add insights, your ability to contribute to business performance and your ability to align the requirements of the Finance function with the demands of the commercial business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Finance Business Partners and being responsible for maximising the effectiveness of the working interface between Finance and the business
  • Developing the process framework for Finance Business Partnering, and setting and driving the achievement of consistent high standards and added value
  • Partnering with one or more business areas, being on their leadership team and taking the Finance lead on:
  • Monitoring and management of business and financial performance
  • Evaluating business opportunities, risks and issues and assessing their financial implications
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant financial policies and procedures e.g. applications for capital expenditure/investment
  • Providing financial advice, business insight, guidance and recommendations and/or  involving the relevant specialists from the Finance function
  • Engaging with the senior leadership team and the finance function to agree the services to be provided by the Finance Business Partners and thereafter managing the subsequent service delivery to ensure the agreed requirements are met
  • Supporting the CFO on specific projects and/or change initiatives
  • Identifying and supporting the drive for process and performance improvement throughout the business
  • Developing and maintaining a network of relationships within and across the business.  Keeping informed and up-to-date on business developments and enabling immediate engagement when action or support is needed
  • Representing your team area within the Finance function, and vice versa, to facilitate mutual understanding, alignment and the prompt and effective resolution of any issues arising
  • Leading and/or contributing to a wide variety of projects and initiatives as required, potentially including corporate transactions
  • Leading, motivating, empowering and developing a team to deliver high quality outputs in the most effective ways while ensuring their personal and professional development 
  • Business area alignment with financial standards, processes, timetables, policies etc
  • Foresight and ability to provide early warning and minimise surprises or spot opportunities
  • Partner business area leader feedback on:
  • Contribution to business area planning and performance
  • Understanding of business goals, priorities and circumstances
  • Quality and commercial appropriateness of insight and recommendations
  • Foresight and ability to provide early warning and minimise surprises or spot opportunities
  • Added value e.g. savings or performance enhancements
  • Finance service delivery
  • Development of Finance BP capabilities e.g.
  • Process improvements (costs, cycle times, consistency, accuracy)
  • Technology (system functionality, reliability, cost, consistency, connectivity)

 

Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA OR CIMA Qualified Finance Professional
  • 8 Year's PQE
  • Senior Finance leadership experience
  • Proven track record in adding value as a Finance Business Partner

  • Must demonstrate full compliance with all legal requirements and all relevant RSA policies.
