Regulatory Accountant- 18 Month Contract

This job will give the suitable candidate an excellent opportunity to get full visibility on the end to end Regulatory reporting experience and opportunities to become involved in wider Financial reporting objectives of the Company.

Working within a busy Finance function, you will contribute to the delivery of the team targets by achieving your own objectives effectively. The candidate will report into the Regulatory Reporting Manager.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Producing timely and accurate Quantitative and Qualitative Solvency II reporting both internally to the Parent Company and externally to the CBI.
  • Communicating and liaising with internal finance colleagues and cross functionally with Actuarial, Underwriting, IT and other colleagues around the business in order to give or obtain further information, to resolve queries and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Preparation of key management information for reporting and presenting to various internal Committees.
  • Ensuring an appropriate control and compliance environment by operating key financial controls process and highlighting issues to the Regulatory Reporting Manager.
  • Contributing to projects and initiatives by identifying and suggesting opportunities to add value through improved process efficiencies and thinking outside the box.
  • You will assist the wider finance team by performing monthly/quarterly processes and taking on projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Well to start with, you’ll need to be a driven and motivated team player with a hardworking, a can do attitude and a passion for delivering to a high standard.
  • You’ll need lots of initiative, an affinity for problem solving as well as an ability to work to set targets and remain calm under pressure.
  • You will also be able to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Naturally you will be an expert communicator who can relate well to customers and colleagues alike.
  • A passion for learning and willingness to take on a challenge.
  • Finally a high level of enthusiasm, resilience and a good sense of fun will stand you in good stead.
  • Newly Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • If you have experience of the Insurance sector & Solvency II exposure, this is highly desirable
  • Experience of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to an expert level
  • Proven ability to adapt to change & learn new tasks & systems quickly
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
  • Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
  • Awareness of the need for effective controls throughout all stages of the reporting process
