Claims Business Analyst

The purpose of the Claims Business Analyst role is to help identify problems, opportunities, and solutions for the Claims department based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of the company data assets.

This role involves analyzing a broad range of different, and in some cases complex, internal data, and processes to produce focused Management Information. The MI will be presented to make practical, data-driven business decisions, and implement changes based on those decisions.

Leveraging enterprise BI capabilities, the role holder will work with stakeholders from the claims and ITS/Data functions to:

  • identify, agree and formalize information requirements
  • design visuals and models to support business decisions
  • organize and certify the delivery of associated management information and analytical solution
  • present findings and recommendations to management and key stakeholders

The Claims Business Analyst act as a data champion to inspire users to follow RSA’s data governance and data protection frameworks.

You will work in a team environment but are likely to have personal responsibility for meeting the expectations of internal customers.

You will need a significant depth of data & information management experience.

You will be proficient on understanding and managing internal customer requirement and knowledge of information analysis approaches, tools and systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing large amounts of complex data asset to:
  • Identify, understand, and explain emerging trends, risks and opportunities
  • Evaluate business processes for efficiency, cost, performance
  • Capturing, analyzing and addressing MI business needs
  • Ensuring MI reports and BI solutions are fit for purpose
  • Communicating insights and understanding to stakeholders
  • Developing a core PM network across Portfolio Management, Underwriting, Pricing and Reserving
  • Maintain a good understanding of external markets, competition and future development.
  • Supporting the requirement management and project contribution to the development of business cases for the implementation of new or enhanced analytics capabilities
  • Assisting the Insight & Control Team in conducting other claims monitoring and reporting aligned to key risk areas as and when required

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business-focused field such as business administration, finance, or economics
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience of Business Analysis with a specialization on data, analytics and visualization
  • Successful development of complex business cases, solution definition and oversight of deliverables
  • Good understanding of claims practice and process, to include technical, suppliers, case reserving, process, fraud, and compliance.
  • A curious, creative, critical thinking and ambitious mindset
  • Being numerate and with analytical capabilities
  • Good communication and stakeholder’s leadership skills
  • Project management experience
  • Solid understanding of the technology involved in analytics
  • SQL proficiency
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (Qlik or similar)
  • Hybrid Role
