IFRS17 Accountant

Excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to be part of IFRS17 implementation at an early stage.

The role involves working as part of the Ireland IFRS17 project team which comprises 3 core project team members and ancillary support. It is further supported by and forms part of a wider IFRS17 RSA Group project team. The candidate will report into the local Head of IFRS17.

It offers an excellent opportunity to participate in the delivery of a large finance transformation project and will involve liaising with stakeholders across the business in the development of an end-to-end solution for insurance accounting under IFRS17.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the interpretation and implementation of IFRS17 in co-operation with the local and wider RSA Group IFRS17 project teams
  • Assisting in the design and testing of systems for production of new reporting requirements
  • Documenting of reporting systems as well as processes and controls for IFRS17 while integrating these within our existing finance systems
  • Engaging with stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial, IS and the wider RSA Group
  • Managing internal finance and business stakeholders to ascertain and meet their requirements
  • Sharing information about financial reporting developments across the RSA business, as well as supporting the finance training agenda
  • Driving initiatives to raise standards and improve operational effectiveness and consistency through process, technology and/or people capability development

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) 2+years post qualified experience
  • Experience in insurance sector and understanding of insurance data
  • Experience of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to an expert level
  • Proven ability to adapt to change & learn new tasks & systems quickly
  • Knowledge or interest in how line of business systems operate
  • Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
  • Experience in SAP or another applicable accounting software
