Data Protection Specialist – Fixed Term Contract

Excellent opportunity to join an established Data Protection team. We are looking to hire a Data Protection Specialist as a fixed term contract.

This role will involve supporting to the Data Protection Officer and the wider business in relation to data protection compliance.

As the Data Protection Specialist will spend the majority of your time helping ensure that data subject rights are dealt with appropriately and helping the business with personal data breaches and data protection risk incidents.

You will work in a team environment, collaborating closely with and meeting the needs of internal customers. You will have good business and operational administration skills and experience. This role specifically covers Data Protection, with a focus on data subject rights and data breaches and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of data subject rights requests and liaising with other departments to close out on data subject rights requests.
  • Prepare and issue data subject rights requests, collaborating closely with business areas as appropriate.
  • Line 2 oversight and risk assessment of personal data breaches/incidents
  • Raise any requests that are out of agreed processing timeline and proactively engage relevant business area(s)
  • Contribute to management reporting in relation to data subject rights requests and other data protection KRI.
  • Providing a wide range of administrative and support services to help the Data Protection Officer.
  • Collating information and producing documents to support the operation and management of the business.
  • Providing feedback to Data Protection Officer on emerging issues arising from subject rights or data protection incidents.
  • Giving data protection advice and guidance to the business.

Requirements:

  • Role based in Galway, Dublin or Belfast.
  • A reasonable understanding of data protection, to include the GDPR.
  • Experience of administrative environments.
  • Experience of prioritising/co-coordinating work and dealing with stakeholders.
  • This is a great role for someone with data protection experience looking to gain experience in a multinational insurer or someone with good organisational skills and an ability to learn looking to move into the data protection field.

Regulatory Requirements:

This role is a "controlled function" as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that you meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness & Probity standards issued in this Act. CF2.
