Business Development Executive

Exciting new role within our Commercial Sales Team.  As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for growing the RSA intermediated portfolio by developing strategic growth plans and actions, identifying opportunities, generating new sales leads and contacts, building positive broker and key stakeholder relationships, negotiation, closing NB submissions and renewals and maintaining extensive knowledge of market conditions. This role is largely field based.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your primary responsibility is to grow long term profitable RSA business by understanding and influencing your Brokers at the highest level and therefore creating a pipeline of ongoing renewal and growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships at senior levels within assigned Brokers to thoroughly understand their strategy, culture, personalities, customer base and decision making and ensure they fully understand RSA’s propositions.
  • Develop, agree and maintain a short-, medium- and long-term account strategy and plan for each Broker to achieve P&L strategy and targets.
  • Drive the effective delivery of Broker account plans, involving finance, marketing, sales, operations, claims and underwriting colleagues, to ensure RSA achieves the required service and performance.
  • Manage the overall sales pipeline with these broking partners to ensure RSA achieves its annual sales targets.
  • Be a recognised expert applying best practice sales techniques and tools and demonstrating the Brand Beliefs, fully exploiting your skills, knowledge and experience and RSA’s investment in your training and development.
  • Comply with the required standards of sales excellence and best practice and operating effectiveness and efficiency, and Group, legal and regulatory.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum APA Qualification
  • Ideally 4- 5 years in a range of sales environments
  • Ideally experience in B2B sales
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills
  • Broad knowledge across business area
  • Proven business development skills
