Claims Negotiator

Exciting new role to join our highly skilled and experienced Claims Team in Galway.  This role as Claims Negotiator will be involved in evaluating all types of injury claims. You will spend your time driving injury claims to economic settlement at Pre and Post PIAB and Litigation of the Claims process.

You will spend most of your time leading settlements of third-party claims. You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives.

You will attend negotiation meetings with Plaintiff Solicitors at Regional Court venues to maximise every opportunity for cost effective settlement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The provision of the most effective and efficient, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
  • Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to RSA customers, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority to preferred clients.
  • Undertaking some claims settlement negotiations for preferred clients
  • Providing precautionary and post-event advice and guidance to preferred RSA customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
  • Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Co ordinating identification of all injury claims for early economic settlements.
  • Building effective management relationship with our RSA Customers. Defence and Plaintiff Solicitors.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years insurance business experience required with CIP.  
  •  Role will be based in Galway office working hybrid.
  • Full clean Drivers Licence
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Overnight stays may be necessary.  

 

Regulatory Requirements:

  • If this role is defined as a "controlled function" by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that you meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness & Probity standards issued in this Act.
